About BANDROOM.GAMES

Free browser games that make music practice feel like playing, not chores.

BANDROOM.GAMES is a free, browser-based arcade of games built to make music practice fun. Students point a real instrument — or just their singing voice — at the microphone and play. There is no sign-up, no install, and nothing to buy.

It's for band and orchestra students, beginning musicians, music teachers, and parents who want practice to actually happen. Instead of dry drills, you blast monsters by playing the right note, fly by singing, echo back melodies, and flip cards to learn the staff and rhythm — building real skills along the way.

What you can practice

  • Note reading — treble and bass clef (Clef Match)
  • Rhythm & note values — whole through sixteenth notes and rests (Rhythm Match)
  • Note recognition on your instrument — brass & saxes, transposition handled (Brass Blaster)
  • Pitch & voice control — for singers (Glide)
  • Ear training & aural memory — call-and-response (Echo)
  • Tuning & intonation — a free chromatic tuner (Tuner)

How it works

The microphone games use real-time pitch detection that runs entirely in your browser. Your audio is analyzed live to figure out what note you're playing or singing — it is never recorded, stored, or uploaded. The only thing that ever leaves your device is your initials and score, and only if you choose to save them to a game's high-score board.

Everything works in modern browsers (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge) on computers, Chromebooks, phones, and tablets. The mic-based games need microphone permission; the theory games (Clef Match and Rhythm Match) need nothing but your eyes and memory.

Frequently asked questions

Is BANDROOM.GAMES free?

Yes. Every game and tool is completely free to play in your web browser. There is no account, no install, and no paywall.

Do I need to install or sign up for anything?

No. BANDROOM.GAMES runs entirely in the browser. There is nothing to download and no sign-up. Some games ask for microphone permission so they can hear you play or sing.

What instruments does it work with?

The playing games support brass and saxophones — trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, French horn, and soprano/alto/tenor/baritone sax — and transposition for Bb, Eb and F instruments is handled automatically. The singing games (Glide and Echo) work with any voice, and the theory games (Clef Match, Rhythm Match) need no instrument at all.

Is it good for beginners?

Yes. The games are built to make the basics — reading notes, counting rhythm, matching pitch, and tuning — feel like play instead of homework. Voice-based games calibrate to your range, and the theory games start from note names and the staff.

Is my microphone audio recorded or uploaded?

No. Microphone audio is analyzed live in your browser to detect pitch and is never recorded, stored, or uploaded. Only your initials and score are sent if you choose to save to a game's high-score board.

Can teachers use it in class?

Yes. BANDROOM.GAMES is free for classroom and home use, works on school Chromebooks, and offers pre-configured links teachers can drop into Google Classroom. See the For Teachers page.
